2019 Annual General Meeting
This years AGM will be held on Wednesday November 13, 2019 at the Eugene Joseph School Gym starting at 10:00 AM and will be serving lunch, all are welcome to attend.
2018 Elections
Tanizul Timber would like to welcome back re-elected Theresa Austin along with newly elected members of the board Conrad Joseph and Derek Monk. Thank you to all that attended and voted. This was the first time we used the electronic voting, which was a good turnout and was successful at reaching our off reserve membership.
Update on 2018 Annual General Meeting
The AGM was held on Wednesday November 14, 2018. This event was held at the EJES Gym which started with a light lunch at Noon and the meeting started at 1:00 PM. Thank you to those that attended. It was a good turn out along with our Trustee, Paul Felix Sr that made it to the meeting.
2018 Elections for Three (3) Board of Directors
There will be elections held for 3 Board of Directors which are for 4 year terms. Nominations opens Monday October 29 and will be open until November 2, 2018. Accept/Decline period the following week. Please see Charlene Tom at the Tl'azt'en Nation Band Office for Nominations. In person voting to take place on the day of the AGM and more information on the Online Voting will be handed out prior to the election.
October 2018
There is a new Forest Stewardship plan for CFA K4B and FNWL N2O available for review and written comment until November 20, 2018. This FSP does not show the specific locations of proposed cutblocks and roads. Instead, the FSP specifies results of strategies that will guide forest management on Community Forest Agreement (K4B) and First Nation Woodland Licence (N20) for the next five years. This plan can be reviewed at the Tanizul office located at 316 Binche Keyoh Way from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.
Update on the 2017 Annual General Meeting.
The Tanizul Timber Ltd Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held at the Elder's Centre in Tache and was a success. Thank you to everyone that came out and participated.
Tanizul Continues Planting Large Numbers of Seedlings:
On June 12, 2017, Artisan Reforestation Ltd, successfully completed our spring 2017 planting program; 675,000 new seedlings are now growing out there! In spring 2015, we planted 1,752,330 seedlings on CFA K4B. This is a record number of seedlings for Tanizul Timber. Artisan Reforestation Ltd as well as Celtic Reforestation Services Ltd did most of this work. Also, some of these trees were planted directly by the Tanizul summer crew. We planted 690,000 seedlings spring 2016.
Update on the 2016 Annual General Meeting and Election of Directors.
The Tanizul Timber Ltd Annual General Meeting (AGM) was be held on the afternoon of October 7, 2016 at the Elder's Center in Tache. We started informally with a lunch at noon, and the meeting was called to order at 1 p.m.
Among other things, a resolution was passed to update our mission statement. Another was passed to update our election code. Also see the following documents, 2016 Election Flyer and the AGM Agenda
The newly elected Tanizul Board of Directors Ltd. is as follows:
Reelected were: Theresa Austin, Gordon John*, Cecil Martin, and Fabian Tom*. Newly elected are: Don Mattess* and Olivia Roberts.
*The term on the board for these three is four years. The remaining three will face an election in two years.
Forest Practices Board has Completed its Audit of Tanizul Timber.
During the summer of 2015, the Forest Practices Board (FPB) did a thorough audit (inspection) of our field practices as well as our documentation and reporting practices. On April 7, 2016, the Forest Practices Board released reporting documents, see below.

For the record, at Tanizul Timber, we take fire hazard assessment and fire hazard abatement very seriously. Our documentation was poor and we will easily be able to improve on that. Also, we learned a lot through the audit process. We realize there is in fact room for improvement in many areas.
