Tanizul currently is involved with two large forest tenures in the Tl'azt'en territory. This georeferenced map shows both tenures: Tanizul Tenures Ortho Overview Map.
Community Forest Agreement (CFA) K4B
Since the early 1980s, Tanizul Timber Ltd has managed this large forest area west of the Tachie River, also as shown on this overview map. The authority to manage this forest was granted in the form of a Tree Farm Licence (TFL 42). In late 2009, TFL 42 was surrendered in exchanged for a Community Forest Agreement (CFA K4B). Here are links to our current CFA K4B Managment Plan , and CFA K4B Timber Supply Analysis Report .
First Nations Woodland Licence (FNWL) N2O
The Ministry of Forests have been working with us and the Tl'azt'en Nation toward the issuing of First Nations Woodland Licence N2O, for several years now. This will be similar to Tanizul Timber's current community forest; CFA K4B. On January 23, 2017, Tanizul Timber Ltd submitted a draft Management Plan for review by the Ministry of Forests, Lands, and Natural Resource Operations and all interested stakeholders. This Management Plan was approved on September 1, 2017.
